Quinine for nocturnal leg cramps?

When we reviewed the management of nocturnal muscle cramps over 12 years ago,1,2 we concluded that there was little evidence of efficacy for any treatment, but what there was favoured quinine. Here we re-examine the data, including material published since our original article, and assess whether the position has changed.
